Bridget
A deceptively simple strategy game.
It looks simple enough: One player creates a bridge from the top to the bottom of the game board by connecting circles. The other player creates a bridge from the left to the right by connecting X's. Whoever builds their bridge first wins.
However, the game is not as simple as it first appears. No, the first person to move will not always win. No, simply blocking your opponent is not an effective strategy. And yes, the computer can probably apply graph theory better than you can.
You can try it right now either in your browser or launched by Java Web Start, without downloading anything. Of course, you can also download the desktop application version.
