1FB00-1FBFF Symbols for Legacy Computing

The Symbols for Legacy Computing block, introduced in Unicode 13.0, contains characters from the best-known 8-bit and 16-bit microcomputers, most of the characters from teletext, and only the most useful characters from lesser-known 8-bit microcomputers. Together with characters from versions of Unicode prior to 13.0, this block enables complete support for character sets from Acorn, Apple, Atari, Commodore, Minitel, MSX, Sinclair, Tandy, and Tangerine.

1CC00-1CEBF Symbols for Legacy Computing Supplement

The Symbols for Legacy Computing Supplement block, approved for a future version of Unicode but not yet published (and therefore subject to change), contains characters from lesser-known 8-bit microcomputers, characters from HP terminal character sets and early versions of Smalltalk, and separated block mosaic characters from teletext. Together with the Symbols for Legacy Computing block and characters from versions of Unicode prior to 13.0, this block enables support for character sets from Amstrad, HP, Kaypro, Mattel, Ohio Scientific, Robotron, Sharp, Smalltalk, and Teletext. It covers the long tail of legacy character set support.

FFC00-FFCFF Symbols for Legacy Computing Appendix

This range of the Private Use Area contains characters from legacy computers, broadcast standards, and display technologies investigated by the Terminals Working Group (the group which proposed the characters in the Symbols for Legacy Computing blocks) but determined to be speculative (they might have existed on some platform at some point but there is no evidence), dubious (there is evidence they might exist but it's not clear if they were ever actually implemented and used, or there is evidence they exist but no way to identify them), or unencodable (they are IP-encumbered, too similar to existing characters or character sequences, violate some other principle of the Unicode Standard, or are otherwise unlikely to be accepted).
